  I recently moved a number of my accounts to the San Francisco branch of Flagstar Private Banking at 300 California Street. I did so when a former personal banker of mine moved to that institution. She and her team now provide me with the same dedicated and reliable service I received from her for many years. In addition, Flagstar offers me a range of CDs at very competitive rates. I'm very pleased with my decision.

  This appears as a branch of Flagstar Bank when you search, but I think it may be only for mortgages. Flagstar Bank customer service is unable to say, but since they can't provide a phone number for the office or a description of what it does, it was a waste of time for my purposes.

  An abysmally mismanaged institution. We have three rental properties with Flagstar loans. Our insurance carrier has submitted and resubmitted evidence of insurance but Flagstar continues to send us letters that our insurance has expired. I've tried numerous times to call them about the error but can't get past the phone tree. We are in the process of transferring these loans to a more reputable (or at least minimally competent) bank.

  I'm a Realtor and Investor with multiple properties and have never seen a worse mortgage carrier who just transfers your calls from 1 department to another and if you call the bank, guess what, they transfer you again to the automated system. Lenders and customers, please avoid using them at all costs
