  My mother and I had a very disappointing experience at PNC Bank. The bank was open until 1:00 p.m., and we arrived at 12:23 p.m. We were there because my father had recently passed away, and we needed to provide his death certificate, remove his name from the account, and sign the paperwork to add me to the account. It took a great deal of courage for my mother to walk into the bank during such a difficult time. Instead of receiving compassion or assistance, we were immediately told by the front desk that we would have to schedule an appointment, even though the task was simple and there was still plenty of time before closing. The banker Gene we scheduled the appointment with then walked by and mentioned that the process would only take a few minutes on Monday. I asked if, since he was already there and it was such a quick process, he could help us then. Gene looked down and simply said, “No.” There was no explanation, no offer to help, and not even a simple “I’m sorry for your loss.” The only assistance we received was when my mother asked if he could make a copy of the death certificate, which he did before handing it back. That was the extent of the interaction. Customer service is about more than completing transactions—it’s about treating people with empathy, especially when they are grieving. We left feeling dismissed and unsupported. After leaving PNC, we went to Bank of America, where they immediately helped my mother with her accounts and handled everything professionally and compassionately. I hope PNC provides better training to its employees on customer care and empathy. A few minutes of kindness can make an enormous difference to someone going through one of the hardest moments of their life.

  This PNC branch office can make replacement debit cards. Melissa was very helpful and we very much appreciate getting new cards made without waiting for them to be mailed. Thanks!

  This is not a branch. Don’t waste your time. Useless employees sit around while you wait for someone to hopefully respond back. Waste of time.

  What good is a bank with 3 useless people in it? You can’t deposit a large check with an actual person here…
