  My mortgage is with south state bank. I’m only making this review so anyone looking to obtain a mortgage can be cautious. We’ve made on time payments with SouthState for 2 years now. Last week our home partially burned leaving us with heavy expenses moving out while the home is being repaired. I called the loss mitigation department requesting a 60 days forbearance just so we can absorb some cost. I asked if we could just add 2 payments to the back of the loan. 2 weeks later I get a letter stating they will offer zero help. Rest assured I will be refinancing with another mortgage company after the home is fixed and southstate will not be making a half a million in interest on me over the 30 year loan. Worst business move a company could ever make. Profits over customers sadly just cost you major profits.

  Won’t even change $20s you get from their ATM into smaller bills unless you open an account.

  The assistant branch manager, Izaira Fernandezalives has AMAZING customer service! We opened an account for our nonprofit and she made it incredibly easy. She not only remembers your face, but your name as well. One of the times I came to the bank, Izaira was getting into her car to go home. She saw me and said she would be right behind me. She came inside after she was logged out for the day and helped me with paperwork I needed to get from her. She treats us like we're her most important customers and is wonderful at her job. Thank you for A++++++ service!
