This practice quietly brings in billions for banks, while regular people are left struggling just to cover basic needs. Even “overdraft protection” is misleading, because it doesn’t protect anyone—it just allows the transaction to go through so the bank can apply another fee. It shows that banks aren’t looking out for their customers at all; they’re looking out for profit.
