The staff at this location are very friendly and very helpful but CUTX as a whole is something I’m not happy about. I’ve been a member since November 2022 and I was happy to have an account with them along with being new in the area. Up until I noticed that back office had restricted my Zelle, bill pay, external transfer feature and mobile deposit. I called member service to ask if I can have them back on. I was told that I can’t have that feature back due to not having direct deposit and that I had a charged-off from another financial institution. I’m not sure why one of the member services representative explained to me that I didn’t have direct deposit into the account but I’ve been having direct deposit going into the account since it was opened. Months later, they restricted my ATM deposit to where I can’t make deposits at the ATM. I was disappointed and I called member services and was able to have that feature back on. Not only that, I was able to have my Zelle back on but after been trying to have my other features back, I was told no and they still wouldn’t give me a reason. All of this making me want to closing my account and switched to another financial institutions. I am not likely the service I’ve received, Every time I called member services, it always a long hold time. I don’t use their bill pay because it cost monthly use it. I had On The Spot Loan and I had a horrible experience with the loan department and one the representative was rude and dismissive. After I been a member here, they started increasing their fees. Not happy that they will send you a text message explaining non-usage debit card will close the card down if I had 10 days to use it. As of right now, I’m not sure on rather or not if I still want to keep my account opened. But I don’t deserve to treat like this especially when you new bank in the area.

The Gilmer locations are a joke. I went on a Thursday after work and got there no later than 5:30. No time to open a new acct because they have people in office. Fine. They said they can do it over the phone the next day. I send my info by text. Bianca calls and asks when I can come in person to sign. No time after work so I say Saturday before 12. I go, deposit some cash and sign. They don't even tell you when you open an account they can't print you a debit card. Bianca says one will be mailed. Okay. Then Bianca says to message her the next week before I go to the other location and she can have the card printed and ready to be picked up. I messaged and no response. I go to the other location when I had time off of work and they can't seem to figure things out. Then the card machine "broke printing your card". Right. They did call the next day or so and leave VM saying I could pick up my card, but I cannot take off of work or make it there in time. They never mailed me my card. Days later when I looked on the app I had 2 debit cards for the same checking account, neither of which I physically had. Not having cards I never set up direct deposit and continue to use my other bank. I never got the incentive of receiving $250 (or however much) by depositing the right amount. I deposited a check on Tuesday 9/09 and how fast it becomes "available" depends on whether or not I even keep the account open, much less have my paycheck direct deposited. I do like the CUTX app better than my other banking app. If I needed to go in person I'd drive 190 miles to Dallas before I went back to the Gilmer locations.
