I used to work for BBVA Compass before PNC Bank bought them out. I closed my accounts 10+ years ago b/c of the "issues" that I personally experienced with BBVA Compass. Fast forward to 2026 and I decided to give PNC Bank a try. I took advantage of a promotion they were offering when you're opening a new checking account, which thankfully did come in handy and right on time from the ETA that I was given when I opened the account on-line, lol
Last month was the 1st time I visited the local branch. It's brand new and it's close to my home. Unfortunately, they don't have a drive thru so I had to go inside to see a teller, but to my surprise I was greeted by a gentleman named Cohen. He was polite and kind, even patient with me as I had to fill out a withdrawal slip. The only problem I ran into is when I was trying to cash a small check I was told PNC requires new customers to deposit all checks (except PNC checks) in the 1st year of your account opening. I asked if I was considered a new customer since I still had a credit card opened at BBVA Compass that was converted to PNC Bank, but was told that the credit card doesn't work as an established customer relationship of having a checking account open.
I did ask the manager if there was an exception that could be made based on all factors of my accounts. I was told she would love to but the platform the tellers us wouldn't allow for the check to be cashed.
I was pretty upset, but not at Cohen or the manager, just at PNC Bank for the policy. Regardless, both the manager and Cohen seemed very sincere in their responses. They delivered the information to me in a professional and empathetic way, so I finished the transactions without resentment.
A couple weeks ago I came back to the branch to make coin deposits with my kids from their piggy banks. We were already informed before we came in to wrap the coins, so we were prepared. Cohen remembered me and greeted me just a kindly as he did the 1st time I came in. With 5 mins to go before closing, he was so helpful and polite to my kids as well.
Let me not forget to give kudos to Tiffany as well. I have been in the branch twice when she has helped me make withdrawals. She also is kind and polite and greets me at the door. She even asks about my plans for the weekends. We enjoy small talk as if we have known each other for years. Her personality is very fitting for this type of professional environment.
All this to say, Tiffany and Cohen have made my experiences at this PNC Bank location pleasant and professional. Keep up the good wok team!
