I would like to formally express my concern regarding the experience I had at this branch. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing and left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable.
I originally contacted customer service because I was unable to reset my account password. I was told that I would have to wait three days to receive a temporary password. In today’s banking environment, I find that unacceptable, as customers should have a more efficient way to regain access to their accounts. Due to the frustration of not being able to access my account, I decided to visit the branch to withdraw all of my funds.
When I arrived around 2:30 PM, I was assisted by a tall male employee at the front desk who was wearing a blue and white shirt. I explained that I wanted to withdraw all of my money and close my account because I could not even access my account to monitor my spending. He then went to get the branch manager.
When the manager approached me, she asked what was going on, even though the situation had already been explained. At that point I was already frustrated due to the earlier issues with customer service. The manager informed me that they would not be able to close the account that day, but that I could proceed with the withdrawal. I explained that my main concern was withdrawing my funds and that closing the account was simply the next logical step since I could not properly access it.
However, the interaction felt unnecessarily complicated and drawn out. I found it confusing that I was initially told the account could not be closed, but after the transaction was completed I was then told the account would be closed the following day. This inconsistency made the situation feel unprofessional and poorly communicated.
Additionally, while I was returning inside to request a copy of my account statement, another manager approached and began speaking over the employee who was already assisting me. This created further confusion and added to the uncomfortable experience.
Overall, the entire interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and unwelcoming. As a customer, I expect professionalism, clear communication, and respectful service when handling my personal finances. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect those standards.
Because of this interaction, I will not be returning to this branch. After my experience, I can understand why the location currently holds such a low customer rating. I sincerely hope steps are taken to improve customer service and communication so that other customers do not have a similar experience.

I was literally verbally abused by the branch manager over the phone. PNC Shoal Creek has gone downhill over the years. I have been a PNC customer since 2018 and felt gaslit and ridiculed when dealing with a sensitive matter with which I needed help and did not understand. Very, very upsetting.
