Three years ago, I leased a Model Y and was told that, at the end of the 36-month term, I would be able to return the vehicle like a standard lease and transition into another one. Only now am I learning that, to avoid paying the negative equity on the vehicle, I am effectively required to extend the lease to five years. These leases differ from traditional ones, and the details can easily be overlooked. I encourage anyone considering a Fain lease to read the fine print carefully and make sure the terms are fully understood before signing.
