  The Ground Round was the spot when we were hungry for food and thirsty for a good time. Just about every Wednesday night, me, Barb, Maureen, and sometimes Doris if her knees were behaving, would pile in after spin class. At first it was just for apps and drinks (yes Barb, Chicken Florentine can be an app), but we were really there for the atmosphere. So when I decided to stop by the old stomping grounds to honor Maureen’s wish to have some of her ashes scattered in our corner booth, I was surprised to see the place had been rebranded as a First National Bank. I figured maybe it was one of those trendy restaurant makeovers like when Applebee’s tried to go bistro. I was upset, but the staff were polite and the lobby was spotless. Adequate seating. I chatted with one of the members of the wait staff about days gone by. She was such a sweetheart. Five stars. If I was looking for a bank (I am not), this would be a top contender. I ended up leaving a little bit of Maureen behind a shrub out front. Not the The Ground Round I remember, but a surprisingly respectful place for reflection. To be clear, I have a great relationship with my current bank, and I am not looking for a new bank. I don't live in this town anymore. It's a nice town.

  The IT team for the entire bank needs to do some serious work. The app is always down (along with the website), and when you call the phone number to check your account, after putting all my information in CORRECTLY, the system said it couldn't find my account. These are serious issues. Customers should ALWAYS be able to check their accounts without having to drive to an ATM to do so. Fix these issues.
