- LCLauren ChouteOct 23, 20251.0I was hoping TurboTax could help me with a tax issue I was having and they were completely incompetent. We got off on the wrong foot when I arrived at my appt and it looked as though a TurboTax agent I had spoken to over the phone (after my appt was moved to a different office from where I originally booked without altering me) had somehow locked my account, which blocked my agent from seeing my tax docs. Once we sort of found a work around to get past that, I spent over an hour in their offices working with an agent who told me I would then have to schedule a follow up with his colleague as he was going on vacation the next day. He assured me his colleague would have all the notes on my account and details regarding my situation that we had discussed and we’d seamlessly be able to pick up where we left off. The second agent called me the following week and opened with “what’s the purpose of this call?” He had no idea of anything that had previously been discussed during our 1 hour+ in person meeting and also quoted me 5 times what we were previously told, in addition to needing an additional week to “look into” my case (for another $100). I was on a timeline with the IRS and did not have another week to lose. Between the rescheduling without notifying me, the system lock out issue, multiple agents getting nowhere with my case and the misquoting of the cost, we took our business to a local tax professional who was able to get the job done without issue. After all these frustrations, I’ll never use TurboTax again.
