STAY AWAY!!
Ever since I started banking at PNC it has been nothing but problems, and I have found out that it is specific to THIS BRANCH. For instance, I can't use my savings account for overdraft protection because "the accounts were set up incorrectly". When I mentioned this (and other issues) to the branch manager at the 1600 Market location, she sighed and apologized, informing me that the 4th & Market branch is notorious for problems because it is used for training new employees. She told that I should just expect a subpar experience because of the branch at which I opened my account.
After emailing the 4th & Market branch manager about going in today to close my PNC account, she assured me that it would not be a problem. Unfortunately, while seated with the customer service representative who was assisting me, I was told that I would have to return to the branch again TOMORROW to actually close my account, as it is apparently a two-step process: transfer all the money into one account (instead of the three accounts that PNC forces you to have if you want to use their website), and then WAIT FOR THAT TRANSFER to clear. Then, go back on ANOTHER DAY to actually close the account and get my money. Upon leaving the branch today, I called the customer service 1-800 number where a supervisor informed me that this was - in fact - NOT how it is supposed to be done. Apparently the person who I was working with didn't know what they were doing, and that is why this has to be a two-visit experience.
Yet again I was a victim of this branch's incompetence!!!!
I cannot reiterate this enough: STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRANCH OR YOU WILL HAVE THE WORST BANKING EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE!

Great bank, never crowded, you can go in (I believe they only allow five people in at a time, it is extremely clean they are always sanitizing when I'm in there and I'm in there every day of the week they have the plastic separators and sanitizers for customers. It's very safe.

Very friendly staff! My debit card was compromised and Paul (I believe his name was) was extremely efficient and helpful in getting me a new one immediately. He was quick and had me in and out in less than ten minutes.

Aaron Robinson is an inspirational banking god, to say the least. He took my situation very personally and seriously. I can't yet open a regular account but he's working with me to get there. I now have direct deposit from my job and am offered a personal account to help work out my personal debts I thank God for people like this.
