IF THERE WAS A ZERO STAR AVAILABIL IT WOULD BE MORE ACCURATE!
This bank has been an absolute nightmare for me from day 1. Started with the representative who after opening an account with, calls me several hours later to let me know she unintentionally created another account for a customer using my personal info that was on her screen for several hours. She said "I'm sorry but don't worry, it's no big deal." Maybe to her it wasn't to me it's a lack professionalism, training and a lack of common courtesy. I asked for the fee for checks I needed to be waived. I must of been bothered by this representative 6 maybe 8 times through calls. If that wasn't bothersome enough. I actually got some push back when I asked. The part I was irritated with the most when they finally agreed & I got my checks, there were 3 singles. What a joke. RED FLAG, I should of closed that account and banked elsewhere immediately. NOW TO THE WORST... I filed a fraud claim when someone w|o my authorization somehow got access to my account and drained me to $0. I reported it immediately, had to speak to 3 agents before I got to someone who actually knew how to process this. I was reassured this behavior looked like fraud and my provisional credit would be applied in 24-48 hours. Meanwhile I'm trying to keep from getting sick from the shock of the whole situation. How is noone trained correctly? Where are the safeguards I'd expect from any major financial institution. NO Fraud alert when 1000s of dollars got past their security protocalls. After I filed my dispute my claim was denied in less then 24 hours. PNC BLATANTLY VIOLATED MY RIGHTS WITH NO REGARD TOWARDS THIS FRAUD...
Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), implemented by Regulation E (12 C.F.R. Part 1005).
Here’s where your bank likely violated your rights:
1. Failure to Provide Provisional Credit (Reg E §1005.11(c)(2))
Denying a provisional credit without completing a proper investigation = violation of Reg E.
2. Improper Claim Denial in Less Than 24 Hours (Reg E §1005.11(b))
The bank is required to conduct a reasonable investigation of your claim.
Denying the claim in under 24 hours, without a full investigation, does not meet the standard of “reasonable investigation.”
Courts and the CFPB have ruled that banks cannot simply look at one factor (like IP address or login location) and deny — they must consider all relevant evidence.
3. Failure to Safeguard and Notify (EFTA + Bank Policies)
While not always a direct Reg E violation, banks are expected to have fraud prevention in place — like text alerts for unusual spending. IVE NEVER IN MY LIVE SPENT MONEY THE WAY MY ACCOUNT SHOWED. For these FDIC insured banks the money in my account may not be a lot for them but for me it's my lifeline to survive during one of the worst inflation economies in decades. I WILL NOT LET THIS SLIDE AND TAKE IT AS FAR AS NEEDED.... IF ANYBODY EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP.
