I’ve been depositing cash into my 82-year-old father’s PNC account for years so he can pay his mortgage. Today, at the Medina branch, the teller suddenly demanded my ID to make a cash deposit. I understand banks have AML policies, but PNC has never asked me for ID for a straight cash deposit before.
I asked to see the policy— the teller said she’d show me, then stepped away to whisper with the branch manager. The manager returned and said it’s a new policy but couldn’t show it. That contradiction and the way it was handled felt dismissive and disrespectful.
For context: I have seven PNC accounts (personal, retirement, and business). After today, I’ll be closing them and moving to a bank that balances compliance with clear communication and respect. I’ve already received information on Caregiver Banking from Huntington, and Westfield Bank has consistently shown up for the Medina community in ways I haven’t seen from PNC.
If PNC’s policy truly changed, post it, train staff to explain it consistently, and treat customers with courtesy. That’s the minimum I expect after years of banking with you. Good riddance. Hire or Train your humans better or teach them how to have a care factor.

When the hours are Posted, especially a banking establishment, they should not be closed before the listed time as they were today(at least 5 minutes early, maybe more). I use PNC for my business, and that is not how businesses should operate.

Watch out people. This bank's service is horrible. The male manager will not work with you and makes you feel like you are worthless. This bank charges overdraft fees even when you not overdrawn. I definitely miss Tim the other manager he used to work with you, listen, and not make you feel stupid. By the looks of the reviews this seems to be an internal problem that hasn't been fixed. I have loved PNC but now I just change bank's if this is how they conduct business.
