I went in to deposit a large check and was immediately subjected to racist scrutiny because I am Hispanic and was "dressed down." They required about five different employees to verify a simple check and my account information—an excessive process clearly motivated by bias, not standard procedure. I asked repeatedly if anything was wrong, but staff ignored me completely. I had to tap on the window to get attention, and the clerk responded with a hostile attitude, roughly shoving my receipt back at me. This treatment—the unnecessary verification, the disrespect, and the assumption based on my looks—is unacceptable. Flagstar Bank needs to address this racist behavior immediately.
