  AB @PNC, you know how to reach me, I already called. I had a savings account a few years back that had a service charge the first month. I complained about that and at the direction of a PNC banker, I closed it and opened this checking account. She told me to open a checking account and treat it like a savings account because there is NO MINIMUM balance requirement on checking accounts. This is clearly a new requirement and I have no record of being informed my account was being changed; You COULD just refund the $7.00. So disappointed; just spoke to Alonzo at this branch regarding a $7 fee on my checking account. I have had this account for many years and have never had a fee. He said my balance dropped below a certain amount and that's why I was charged. My account has dropped below this arbitrary amount numerous times since I opened this account and I have never had a service fee before. I was NEVER told there would be fee if the balance went below a certain amount OR I would not have opened the account. I have been a customer at this bank since it was BBVA and Compass Bank before that. I will be closing all accounts and moving to a new bank.

  PNC is just another crappy financial institution. They buy up smaller banks and then start making cuts (fewer locations, fewer employees, etc.). Partner ATMs? Yeah. At dicey gas stations where half of the machines might have card skimmers. The poor tellers end up having to deal with all the grumpy idiots like me.

  If I could give them negative stars I would. I would never recommend this bank at any location. They are not customer oriented at all and are making a hard situation even harder with their "policies". Since they are not open on Saturdays (no branch in town and it was this way pre COVID) I have to take time off work to go in and deal with them. Several years ago I went in with my mother so she could add me as the beneficiary on the account again because when BBVA bought compass they erased it. They told us all I would need to do is take in her death certificate and I would have access to the funds and be able to close the account. This was a lie. They have been giving me the run around for a week. I was first told that I needed to provide the death certificate and their legal department would review in 48 to 72 hours to approve me getting the funds and closing the account. So I left work early last Friday to take the paperwork in. Then I had to request this Friday afternoon off so I could go get the funds and close the account. But I called today (over 72 hours) to make sure everything is set for tomorrow and they do not have approval from the legal department yet. So now I have to see if I can get next Friday afternoon off to go close the account since they can't do a simple job in a decent amount of time. Friday is also the only day they are open after 3 pm. I get off work at 6 each day so Friday is my only option to minimize how much work I have to miss.

  As a brand new member, I can say that so far I've been pretty impressed with BBVA Compass! & just now, after visiting the branch location at 6001 Academy in ABQ, NM to make a quick deposit, I'm even more impressed!! The nice lady working the drive-thru sent out a doggy biscuit for my pup along with my transaction receipt. Wow! How fun is that!?!?
