It was under the itemized deductions section and clearly was the wrong amount since our only big deduction was the property taxes for about $9,800. The Turbo Tax Expert Consultant said he had not seen this before, and that he would (ostensibly) be submitting as a software issue. We ended up using the standard deduction as it was the only way around it. So the use of that “expert” was a disappointing outcome to have to pay for. That rather unhelpful phone call added about 45 Mins to the overall process. Next year should be easier and quicker. We shall see.
