I am submitting this complaint to formally report serious and ongoing misconduct by a PNC Bank employee at this branch identified as Tettee. My family and I hold both personal and business accounts with PNC Bank. Unfortunately, every interaction we have had with this employee has been hostile, confrontational, and unnecessarily difficult. At this point, this incident feels like the icing on the cake after repeated negative experiences.
On several occasions, Tettee has given us a hard time when we are simply trying to complete basic transactions, particularly cash withdrawals. During my most recent visit, I was at the branch for a personal account withdrawal and was being assisted by another employee. Despite not assisting me directly, Tettee intervened after overhearing the withdrawal amount and began questioning the purpose of my withdrawal.
She presented this questioning as if it were a bank requirement, yet she was unable to provide any written policy or documentation to support her claim. When I asked for this requirement in writing, the interaction escalated. She engaged in a back-and-forth with me in a public, disrespectful, and unprofessional manner, all while she still had a customer at her own window.
Most concerning, during this interaction, Tettee made a threatening statement, saying to me:
“You got the wrong one today.”
I perceived this statement as intimidating and threatening, especially coming from a bank employee who has access to my personal and confidential information, including my home address. This comment caused me immediate fear for my safety and the safety of my family. It also leads me to believe that this behavior may be a pattern and that other clients may be experiencing similar treatment.
As a direct result of this incident, I am now afraid to return to this branch to conduct any banking matters, including managing my PNC business account. No customer should feel unsafe, threatened, or intimidated while accessing essential banking services. Given this employee’s access to sensitive personal and business information, this situation raises serious concerns about customer safety and privacy.
Additionally, due to recent family loss, I have been dealing with anxiety. This experience caused severe emotional distress and ultimately resulted in me seeking emergency medical care due to anxiety-related symptoms. The impact of this interaction went far beyond a typical customer service issue.
I want it formally documented that if anything were to happen to me or my family, this employee’s conduct and threatening statement should be reviewed as part of that context.
This behavior is unacceptable and does not align with PNC Bank’s standards of professionalism, respect, or customer care. I am requesting:
• An immediate internal review of this employee’s conduct
• Appropriate disciplinary or corrective action
• Assurance that I will not be required to interact with this employee again
• Confirmation that my safety and privacy are being taken seriously
