Don't do it. Do NOT attempt to receive a loan from this place. I came to loanmax during the last government shutdown back in October 2024, desperate for enough money to feed our 1 year old baby with special needs.we hadn't received our food stamps so We applied for our loan of $700, having to pay back $822 if we pay it off all by the time the minimum payment is due. In stead of making the minimum payment we paid just under 500. At the time of this payment they VERBATIM tell us " as long as you pay it off BEFORE Dec 31st you'll only have to pay $487. We say ok awesome we'll definitely do that. We call on the 29th or 30th to get the exact number so we can bring them the cash as I had forgotten how much it was at the time. When I questioned why the number was so much higher than what I was told, The man Anthony kept consistently talking over me and cutting me off mid sentence, even though I would listen listen quietly when he spoke.Anthony, The same man who sold us this loan in the first place, proceeds to tell me that actually if I want to pay it all off I'll have to pay them $566. An almost $100 jump directly after Christmas. When they sell you the loan they're very careful to present it as " oh as long as you pay it off by this time it'll only be this much." Not only was that not true, but they fail to mention that the price tag goes up every day you get closer to your payment date. See, most places will charge you extra if your LATE on a payment. Instead, they charge you more every single day REGARDLESS of whether or not your on time. They're careful to present it in such a way that you the customer believe as long as you stay on time, your price is predictable and you can plan your expenses accordingly. This is more than dishonest, it's predatory. After all is said and done, we will have paid over $1000 on $700. That's 30% interest without ever being late. A far cry from the original $822. If your struggling and need money, ask some friends for help. Ask your family. Go to a pawn shop. Donate plasma. Do ANYTHING but go to Loanmax.
