Im trying to get a HELOC and they're going to tell me my total mortgage at 134,000 and my yearly income at 35,000 puts me at a DTI ratio of 68%. That math doesn't even make sense. My monthly payment is only $1,068 and monthly income is $2916. But for the SAKE of arguing lets say my payment was $1,500. So DTI would be (1500 ÷ 2916) × 100. That only equals 51%, so wth are they talking about it being 68%?
