  Got a check from my employer and went to pnc bank to cash and they told me they would charge me 2.5% to cash it would not recommend this place to anyone

  I will never return to the HICKORY Branch unless absolutely necessary. The amount of disrespect and rudeness I experienced on July 12, 2025, is unacceptable. I went in to exchange my leftover pesos for US Dollars. The first two ladies I spoke to were rude and dismissive. They looked at me like I was stupid when I explained my purpose. The first lady, with curly red hair, asked me if I knew it would cost me money. I confirmed that it was fine. Then, a skinny blonde came and said they didn’t do that there. The red-haired lady asked me how much I had in pesos. I told her about 1,400 I think. Then, out of nowhere, another curly-haired lady came out and said no, we couldn’t exchange it if the amount was less than $100 US Dollars. She told me I needed to go to an airport and do the exchange there. I told her I had already called the Granite Falls branch and spoken to Dustin. He said PNC could do it. She responded to me, “No, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I just looked at our policy.” She had a nasty attitude as I was leaving. All three of them were basically yelling that I needed to go to the airport to get my pesos changed to dollars. I stepped out and called PNC customer service. I spoke to a representative who said there was no minimum or maximum amount of pesos that could be exchanged back to US Dollars, and there wasn’t a charge. I walked back in and the red curly-haired lady apologized. I told her that I didn’t need her apology. The rudeness was uncalled for. I know that they are only like that with Latino/Hispanic customers because I have friends and family members who have experienced similar treatment at that branch before. In the background, out of one of the offices, I heard a loud “Oh my god, like get over it.” Needless to say, these ladies are very discriminatory towards anyone who may be Hispanic/Latino.
