Staff is friendly and helpful. However, FnB somehow gave/sold my name, birthday, and SS number to a digital and physical marketing and communications vendor(Marquis Software Solutions) who had a cybersecurity incident(hacked) and found that my personal information was copied/stolen. I went to my local branch to inquire as to why/how my information ended up with a marketing firm(without my knowledge) and why I wasn't notified by FnB. The branch manager couldn't answer my questions and said she would reach out to her superiors and that i would be contacted by someone. After a week with no callback I reached back out to the branch manager. She apologized for no-one calling me back and said she would try again. Eventually, I was contacted by Kim who informed me that many banks work with outside vendors for things like debit cards etc. and proceeded to talk and talk about nothing really. She couldn't answer my questions as to why they needed my personal information especially since I haven't used or had a debit card in over 20yrs. She also didn't answer my questions as to who else FnB shares my personal information with. On top of that she said that the business that was hacked, which she named, wasn't a "marketing firm" which contradicts the letter that they sent me stating that they are a "digital and physical marketing and communications vendor". She talked over me and was generally not helpful as I believe she just wanted to hear herself talk and to wear me out so I would drop it. I said I put my trust in FnB who I had an arrangement with to keep my information safe, not another company that FnB gives my information out to. Why didn't FnB send me a letter stating my information was stolen? Again, she couldn't answer my question. The marketing company that lost my information, who I had never dealt with, was the one that contacted me about the theft of my information, which is understandable since they were the ones hacked. They covered the cost of a credit monitoring agency for 1yr. Who's supposed to cover the cost after that 1yr? I never agreed to share my information with an outside vendor but now I'm responsible for up keeping the cost of credit monitoring for the rest of my life? FNB DOES NOT PROTECT YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION BUT GIVES IT OUT WILLINGLY WITH OUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. Who knows, maybe they sell personal information to make money on top of the money they make with the money we deposit? I am thoroughly disgusted with this institution and will be withdrawing my money as soon as possible. I encourage all others to do the same.

These employees will smile at you at community events then rob you blind under the guise of simply doing their jobs. With friends like these, who needs enemies? Shameful that in a community such as Hatteras Island, the people at this bank are willing to take people's hard-earned money. Practicing shady banking tactics then placing the blame on their victims. They take advantage of people's good nature then play dumb when they're called out for it. Yall should be real proud of yourselves.

Worst bank I operated in the last 30 years. Charging exorbitant fees, over customer satisfaction. A credit card of mine made the mistake of withdrawing 5 small amounts from my checking. Got a letter from them asking FNB to credit the $250 in fees. Their answer hell no, preferring to lose a customer. If you need a Piggy Bank that disregards “Customer Satisfaction” it may work for you. Not for me. Better option in the island.
