I was given false information on multiple occasions and what should have been a simple transaction turned into a stressful nightmare. As the executor of my parent's estate, I have been trying to obtain the title to their car that we paid off last year. Since my parent was an Illinois resident, PNC kept the title as the lienholder. At one point, I was told that PNC lost the title, and almost a year after the fact, I was informed the original title was sent to my parent's address months after their passing. My family had notified PNC of my parent's passing early on, and yet they still claimed they sent the title to our parent's address. With this information, we had privacy concerns as we had sold our parent's home so PNC essentially sent the title to the new residents of the house. After insisting on a tracking number for the title, we found out that PNC incorrectly told us that they mailed the title to our parent's previous address and had actually sent the title to the state of Illinois. I wouldn't have gotten this important information if I hadn't thought to ask for a tracking number. At the branch, I did not get so much as a "sorry for your loss" and the representative I dealt with did not submit the documentation she said she would, which required me to escalate my concerns to the branch manager. The branch manager told me the title would be mailed to me but upon following up, the title was never mailed or going to be mailed to me because the state of Illinois was in possession of it. If this is how PNC treats its customers in this situation, I would not trust them to handle my banking needs. The incompetence, inefficiency, and lack of service are astounding.
