- JGJayme GuldenSep 29, 20232.0When I first start banking with Star Choice, 6-7 years ago, it was amazing. They seemed to truly want to help people and had great customer service. Never missed a payment on my car loan or ever had Overdrafts, etc. Well, I lost my job in early March 2022. I went to the bank to discuss options on payments as I took a HUGE loss in income and they were great! They created a 6 month payment plan that I could afford and I was told after 6 months we would evaluate where I was at and if the plan needed to be extended, they would take a look at it and see what they could do. I have been in constant contact with the Manager, Ryan over the course of this last 6 months. My monthly payments came out the wrong day several times, causing me to have OD fees at my new bank, which they corrected. But then it happened a second month, they reimbursed my fees again. I had been making my payments on time for the 6 months. When the 6 months ended, they reached out and said the new payment was going to be close to $400 per month. I had a new job by then, but no way could I afford that payment. I told the manager I simply couldn't afford that payment and he asked, "what can you afford?" I told them. NEVER HEARD from them AGAIN!! Without notice, they charged off my unsecured loan. I emailed the manager and left a voicemail and never received a response. So much for " we will continue to work with you" I ended up having to file for bankruptcy. So much for trying to do the right thing and payoff my debts. The customer service has tanked at this bank. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this point. I have heard they are merging with another credit union and the name is going to change soon. I wonder why?

When i went to withdraw money in November 2017. Noticed my money was not there. And couldn't do anything about it since it was past 90 days. Closed my account right after. People get upset at big banks like wellsfargo, atleast they have $1000 limit when going through the drive thru, and would have to come inside for bigger transactions.

How can I receive additional support?
Inside the EasyVest product, you will find a Chatbot that is available throughout the product, whether you have an investment or not. The Chatbot can answer most investor questions and is frequently updated to support any new questions that it was previously unable to handle. In addition, Access Softek's team of client service specialists are available via email at InvestSupport@AccessSoftek.com. General requests are typically answered within one business day, but some requests require significant research that may delay the response to you.
How many investment accounts can one member own within EasyVest?
Currently, EasyVest only supports a single investment account for each membership.
Is it possible that my investment account may lose money?
As with any investment, there is a risk that you may lose your investment. Should the market value of your account decline, your account may lose value. However, portfolios managed within an EasyVest account are rebalanced monthly to maintain the level of risk that aligns with your goals.
Is there a minimum amount required to use EasyVest?
The minimum initial deposit required is $200. Once you open your account, you must maintain a balance of at least $200.
What does it mean for an account to be rebalanced?
Rebalancing is the practice of moving funds between exchange traded funds (ETFs) over time to align the overall investment strategy with a member's financial goals. Each EFT is a diversified investment that changes over time. As EFTs change, they may become more or less aligned with an investor's financial desire. When that happens, money is moved around to ensure it is being invested most appropriately. Rebalancing is done monthly.
What if I decide to close my account?
If, at any point, you would like to close your EasyVest account, please contact the team by email at InvestSupport@AccessSoftek.com. You will be charged for any remaining fees if your account is closed before the billing cycle ends. All recurring and/or scheduled deposits and withdrawals will be cancelled. Processing may be delayed up to one full business day to accommodate possible ACH transfers.
The final balance from your closed account will be transferred back to your SharePoint CU account by ACH deposit, which may take up to 3-5 business days. You may not close your account until it has been open for at least 30 days.

By understanding hings about an investor, like their financial goals and risk tolerance, the automated system is able to process and analyze significant amounts of data in real time to make frequent enhancements to an investor's portfolio. This helps ensure that all money invested in the portfolio is being put to the best possible use according to the investor's profile.
How much can a person borrow?
With our HELOC’s we will finance up to 90% loan to value. We will finance up to 100% loan to value on a Fixed Equity loan.
What types of loans are available through SharePoint CU for a member looking to make home improvements? How does each loan work?
We offer both a variable rate Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and Fixed rate term Home Equity loan. The Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) is a revolving line of credit secured by your primary residence or cabins/vacation homes. The HELOC offers a 7-year draw period, and then a 10-year repayment period. Our Fixed Home Equity Loan is a one-time advance that is then repaid over a fixed term at a fixed rate. We offer terms up to 15 years.
Are there additional security options available for Online Banking?
You can set up a Challenge Question in Internet Banking.

Is the Online Banking login secure?
Yes. When you enter your SharePoint member number as your sign-on ID and PIN (Personal Identification Number) to login to your online banking account and then click on the “Submit” button, your personal information is encrypted before it is sent to our Internet Banking site.

Do you offer loans in other states?
Yes, we are able to assist you with your mortgage in all 50 states.
How long is a pre-approval valid?
A pre-approval is valid for four months. After four months, the credit report expires and a new credit report must be pulled.
What are the first steps in buying a home?
The first step would be for you to complete a personal budget to determine how much you can afford to spend on a home. Once you complete a budget, you will want to start the pre-approval process to determine how much you will qualify for.
What is the difference between conventional, FHA, and VA loans?
VA loan – A loan that is available for eligible veterans. VA loans typically do not require a down payment, will be more lenient on credit history, and have a lower interest rate. If you are a veteran or active-duty military, SharePoint can help you determine if you are eligible for a VA loan.
Conventional – Conventional loans are your best option if you have good credit and are able to contribute 3%-5% (depending on if you are a first-time homebuyer) or more as a down payment. When you have less than a 20% down payment mortgage insurance will be required on a Conventional loan, but will drop off when your loan balance gets paid down to 78% of the initial purchase value of the property.
FHA - FHA loans are insured by the Federal Housing Administration. FHA loans provide a low-down payment option at 3.5% and are more lenient on credit issues. However, there are more fees associated with an FHA loan and mortgage insurance does not drop off on an FHA loan.
When is the best time to get pre-approved?
If you are looking to purchase a home, we recommend getting pre-approved as soon as possible. Even if you aren’t looking to buy immediately, getting pre-approved will give you time to correct anything on your credit report and time to increase your credit score to ensure you get the best interest rate.

What kind of account does EasyVest open?
When using EasyVest, you create an investment account that invests in securities. Your account is not a SharePoint Credit Union share. The investment account is held at DriveWealth, LLC, a securities brokerage firm that is not associated with SharePoint CU. The account is managed by Access Softek Advisory Services, LLC, which is also not affiliated with SharePoint CU.
What are contactless cards?
Contactless cards are debit or credit cards equipped with near-field communication (NFC) technology. This allows you to make secure payments by simply tapping your card on a contactless reader instead of swiping it or inserting it into a terminal.
How do contactless payments work?
When you tap your contactless card on a reader, a secure radio signal transmits your encrypted payment information to the terminal. The transaction is then authorized without you needing to enter your PIN for small purchases (amount limits may vary).

Where can I use contactless payments?
Look for the contactless symbol (four wavy lines) displayed at checkout terminals in stores, restaurants, gas stations, and other merchants. Many public transportation systems also accept contactless payments.
Do I need a new card to use contactless payments?
Many newer SharePoint Credit Union cards already come equipped with contactless technology. If you have an older card, you may be eligible for a free replacement with contactless functionality. Contact SharePoint Credit Union to inquire about your specific card.
Can I use my contactless card with a digital wallet?
Yes! Many popular digital wallet apps (like Apple Pay or Google Pay) allow you to add your SharePoint Credit Union card for secure and convenient contactless payments using your smartphone or other mobile device.
What if I have a problem with my contactless card?
If your contactless card is lost, stolen, or malfunctioning, contact SharePoint Credit Union immediately to report the issue and request a replacement card.
What are the advantages of financing through a credit union versus the dealer?
You will likely get a better rate going directly through your credit union. Dealer’s may mark up the rate when using their financing to increase the income they earn on the deal.
Is there a prepayment penalty on RV loans?
No, there is no prepayment on RV Loans!
How long does it take to get an RV loan approved?
Our goal is to preapprove loan requests within 4 hours, assuming we have the information required.
Is it smart to finance a boat for 15 years?
Boats due tend to hold their value better than an automobile. That being said, I think you should look at a payment that is comfortable for your budget rather than just the term. Rates tend to increase once your term extends more than 10 years.
How much money should I put down on a boat?
We offer 100% financing of the value of the boat. Nevertheless, if you are able to put money down towards the purchase that is always a good idea.

Direct deposits may take 1-2 business days to process, especially for first-time setups. Weekends, holidays, or incorrect account details could also cause delays.
