Employees of the Sealed Power Company started the credit union in 1942 as the Sealed Power Employees Credit Union. Initially serving only Sealed Power employees, membership expanded to relatives and through mergers with Muskegon Printing, Industrial Employees Credit Union, Oceana Schools Employees Credit Union, and West Michigan Steel Employees Federal Credit Union. In 2004, a community charter granted membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Allegan, Kent, Mason, Montcalm, Muskegon, Ottawa, Oceana, or Newaygo County.
