So I stopped into the bank to deposit some money into my son's account that he needed for a car repair. I said I'd like to deposit $100 cash in my son's account. This is the only way we can do that is if you give us your social number and your phone number. I said I've done this in the past and they never asked for that before why are you asking me for it now? They said it's a new policy. I said I really don't feel comfortable giving you guys my social security number considering you guys have had multiple data breaches that you're Banks. She stated while I apologize sir but that's the only way we could do it if you want to deposit the money in your son's account today. Understandably upset I agreed because my son needed the money. After the transaction was completed. She stated that you can also use zelle pay app or you can choose to write a check as long as it's under $250 they wouldn't need your social number. I said wait a minute why didn't you tell me this information in the beginning I literally have my checkbook in my truck right now in the parking lot. But instead you led me to believe that the only way I could do this was by giving you my social security number now you have my information in your system and there's no way for me to get it out of there. Obviously I was very upset and frustrated if it wasn't for my son I would never use this bank again! Totally misled and lied too me! I said so what happens now if you have another data breach. She said you'll be offered two years of data monitoring free. And I said after that what happens she said well then you'll have the option to continue to pay for it going forward. Oh great thanks a lot Flagstar! I would give them Zero stars if the Google review would allow me!!!!! Unbelievable.
