Besides abysmal customer service and routine outages that fry appliances and place people's lives at risk (e.g., people who are on oxygen), I wholeheartedly believe that DTE is dishonest with their billing and inflates bills based on customer's zip code. There are probably several unjust practices happening at this company that are waiting to be uncovered.
DTE is a case study of what goes wrong when an oligopoly is allowed. This company SHOULD be ashamed of itself but as long as people feel "forced" to fund this company, any semblance of humanity and a conscience will probably evade the higher-ups who get away with poorly managing this company and embodying mediocrity.

We have lost power for about 3 days now in Canton MI. DTE was NOT PREPARED for this 6 inches of snow?? How can we trust them to provide power in Michigan? We need alternate power companies and more competition. Only then DTE will get its act together!
