- JJjessicaMar 28, 20261.0Flagstar Bank is by far the worst bank ever!!! I was a customer for years only because they held my mortgage. As soon as I sold my house, I went in to cancel 4 out of my 5 accounts. I kept my checking account open for 4 additional weeks until my direct deposit went through on my new account. When I went to close my final account, they made me come into an office. Not sure why you can open an account on line but you have to personally show up to close it! Not only did they botch that, but they kept my account active for an additional 3 months racking up fees. I called every month and was given an excuse "it takes 30 days", " we are working on it", "don't worry it is closed and the fees will be reversed". Funny thing, I just received a collection notice for $104. I'm not giving them another second of my time or money, it's about principal now.
- EEErinJan 21, 20261.0I have had the worst experience with Flagstar. These last few weeks have been unnecessarily stressful due to the CONTINUOUS hold, restrictions and online banking issues. Three times I've been at the point of sale in my purchase and my card didn't work (money was available), it got to the point where I had to leave the restaurant to go to the bank to get cash to pay for my food. Three times on three different days I've tried to transfer money into my account and the transaction didn't complete due to errors with online banking. I've spoken with numerous customer support agents who have not helped me and only offer apologies and a callback in 2-3 business days, which doesn't help with the situation at hand.
