Tried to open a joint account with my grandmother (I'm a minor), who has been a PNC customer for over 30 years. Denied service the second we walked in the door because "nobody was available". He didn't even attempt to check and see if someone was, in fact, available, even though there were at least three employees we could see that were available.
As he was saying this, another employee (who had helped my grandmother open another account a few months previously) left the front desk and walked away. She didn't clock out, just walked away. Maybe I just don't understand banks, but I don't think "nobody available" means several employees in plain view, doing nothing, at 4:30 PM on a Friday.
Needless to say, we went to the M&T across the street and was treated a hell of a lot better.

Terrible customer service, I have a lot of money with this banking institution between my loans and my savings and more acct's. They would not give me my requested withdrawal today despite my having 2 forms of Gov't ID. Guess what? I will be pulling my entire savings and moving it to Navy Federal next week. Complete waste of my time. They should NOT need more than 2 forms of government issued photo ID. They want you to show them another credit card instead of photo ID. But credit cards with chips contain personally identifiable info and this is inappropriate to require.
I've infrequently gone to PNC Thurmont & New Market and although not my regular branch, didn't have this issue at either location. I filled out my withdrawal form with the last 4 digits of my checking account # and full legal name, as well. They offered to have their manager give me a call, which still doesn't get me my withdrawal of my own money.
No I don't use the "app" or "online banking" so that is equally unhelpful. I do not give out my cell # to businesses because my home phone was what I went by 17 years ago when I opened the 1st account. The only true way to verify identity is PHOTO ID.

Vey clean interior, but most importantly a very kind and cimpationate staff that makes you feel like you are the most important person they have seen all day, which goes far since you are not always in the best mood when you need to make physical trips to your local bank.
