1954: First Capitol Federal branch in the greater Kansas City metro area. Known as the "Pioneer of Johnson County", it was first managed by longtime Capitol Federal employee - later Chief Lending Officer and board member - Bob Maupin. Temporarily located in building with an ice cream parlor next door and a dance studio upstairs. Bob said, "During weekdays and especially Saturday afternoons when dance lessons were at their peak, we thought the ceiling would fall in!" The new location for the Mission branch opened in 2010.
