Totally fed up and will be closing our accounts this weekend. My husband and I have multiple accounts with PNC for 20+ years. Some of those are minor savings accounts for our kids. I don't know what is going on, but we are having difficulty making deposits into those accounts. It never used to be like this. I could see if we were taking money out, but when I roll up with a deposit slip already filled out and money to put in, why does it matter if I have any other accounts with the bank? I absolutely understand if it's a third-party check that I'm depositing there might be a hold placed on it to make sure it clears, but my sister-in-law wrote a check to me (I endorsed it and provided my drivers license). I had the deposit slip filled out to put it into my son's savings. Even though he is a minor, he was sitting right next to me and could've signed it after I endorsed it. I was given such grief that I ended up having to put it in my checking account and then transfer the funds to him through online banking. Ridiculous! I let that go, but last night my husband physically went inside the Merrillville, IN branch to physically deposit cash into our other son's savings account and was given more attitude. He had the deposit slip with the full account number, he's on the account with him as a custodian and the money was cash from Christmas. Remember physical cash? Not Zelle or Venmo but actual paper currency. The poor guy was given the Spanish Inquisition! The teller demanded to see his ATM card. He was so perplexed because he tried to explain to her that he didn't want the money going into the checking account that the ATM card is linked to. She told him that if he didn't have another account she was going to charge him $25 to deposit cash into our son's savings. When did it become so difficult to walk into your bank with a deposit slip already filled out and cash money to put into the bank? I am absolutely done with PNC! We're earning a pathetic amount of interest on these accounts anyway. I think we've just stayed with them this long because it's a hassle, but now my hand is forced and I wouldn't recommend this bank to anybody. God help you if you ever need to call the customer service PNC line. It's routed internationally to customer service reps who have absolutely no knowledge of PNC's products, the types of accounts offered, the policies or fees that are imposed on those accounts. I don't even know why they have this Customer service number. I wish I could give negative stars.

My parents have been customers since PNC was formerly First National Bank that's over 30 years. This past Saturday, I believe it was October 18th at the drive thru window. My mom wanted to cash a small dollar overpayment check of $8 and change and withdraw money from her checking and she used one of her checks. She always gives her state ID and PNC debit card and never has issues this time . We both forgot to include both her state ID and PNC debit card. We only gave her the state ID and we both forgot to make sure the front of the check was signed. This incident happened between 11am to 12:30 pm. Little Ms. Attitude because she didn't give me her name and I was so upset that if she did i don't recall. Ms. Attitude didn't let me explain instead she tells me if she wants to withdraw she can always go to the ATM and I told her not that we need to explain ourselves to you but we're aware of that and if she wants to write a check and make a withdrawal then that's her choice. She returns the check because okay my mom forgot to sign the front then asks for 2 forms of ID and this where I get upset because she's not letting me talk. She's talking over me that's what ticks me off! And yes, I was cussing but not cussing at her but I was using some colorful language not my best moment. She tells me she doesn't appreciate me cussing at her and I told her well, I don't appreciate you pissing me off. Let me be clear, IF someone is disrespecting me or taking advantage of me then you better believe I'm going to say something and if I cuss then I cuss because I'm only reacting to how I'm being treated. And I don't like getting angry because I have a heart condition but I'm only human. She made a 15 minute transaction turn into 30 minutes or maybe a little longer. When Keith was there and the other female employee's we never had problems. Since, they've been gone customer service has gone down. During this time some gentlemen kept coming and going dunno if he's the manager and if he is why he didn't intervene I have no idea. I wanted to update a phone number Ms. Attitude told me she had to talk to her manager first. It only take 2 minutes to update a phone number duh. I asked her for customer service number and she tells me that they can't help me but if I'm willing to try then go ahead. Guess what Ms. Attitude. I did ! And I spoke to Jason and we had an in depth conversation about Saturday. The only person i apologized to was my senior parent because I let Ms. Attitude get the best of me and my mom and my mom apologized to me because she saw how Ms. Attitude was acting towards me and my mom told me when she disrespected you she disrespected me and IF this happens again then I will close my accounts and take my business elsewhere. My mom is not happy. So, yes, I called Customer service and filed a complaint because as customers we have an obligation and responsibility to report incidents like this.

Nightmare Bank to deal with.
My insights after 6 years with a business account at this bank.
1. Inept Management that have no authority to deal with customer problems, they can't even deal with rudimentary problems without sending you off to a corporate solutions office.
2. Poorly trained and uniformed staff, who have no idea what there doing. They are rude as well, but this could be tolerated if they were competent, but sadly they are far from that.
3. The whole corporation is a bureaucratic nightmare that keeps branches and headcourters at war with each other to create diversions that keep customers from getting resolutions to their problems. Just get a problem and try to get help, and then watch the cogs start to trip over themselves to get out of the way of responsibility. This is a classic company strategy to hurt customers. They want you to tire out and give up before you get to a solution.
4. A bad place for your money. This bank charges more and pays less than almost any other national bank in the area, just check it out yourself.
