I came here today and went to the desk at 11:00 am. I needed to update my address and get a new card. The ladies at the desk told me to go wait and a bank teller would get me. A rush of people came in I sat and waited patiently for 45 minutes. A teller comes up to me and asks if I’ve checked in at the desk- I told her yes and I was waiting on a teller. During this they serviced roughly 20 people. 2 of which were together and the ladies behind the desk went to grab them coffee, even came back to ask if he wanted Splenda or equal. I’m still waiting. Finally the same teller comes back out and tells me she’s going to go ahead and help the gentleman who received the coffee and that the desk or another teller would help me. I’m confused at this point because the desk just made me wait an hour for a teller because they told me a teller had to do it. I decided to stand in line - if the desk can help that makes the most sense right?- I did so patiently. Then the manager asked the same desk lady to help me cause I’ve been here for 20 mins. I corrected the manager and said I’ve been here for an hour and asked her if the lady could help me because she is the one who originally told me she couldn’t and teller would have to help me.
I waited, turned the other direction and while I was waiting the manager decided to loudly state “ IF WE LIVED IN A PERFECT WORLD A TELLE WOULD HAVE PRINTED YOUR CARD”
“You can come up here in a minute and we can discuss what happened”
I said nothing. As I was shocked she decided to make a scene in front of other customers when I’ve been nothing but patient.
When I got to the desk she insisted on addressing the situation- I asked her to just continue with my service as I needed to get home and reiterated I had been there for over an hour at that point. She insisted we discuss the matter while she did my transaction.
She wanted to assure me they did their job right and that I was not purposely overlooked.
Unlikely- as the same manager speaking to me saw me waiting saw me come in and saw me while she gave the gentleman in the lobby coffee and sweetener.
This is highly inappropriate.
She also stated she submitted a complaint on my behalf? I did not ask her to do that and if I did it would have been for all three employees involved in the matter.
I chose this location today because they have been helpful in the past. However, After having a bad day and your employees- AND MANAGER- decided to make it worse for no reason at all I will no longer be visiting this branch and will likely switch banks.
Your employees embarrassed me when I showed them nothing but grace. It may be time to hold a meeting and consider some training for your employees, tellers, and specifically managers at this location.
I was so embarrassed I decided to start recording your manager after she loudly made a statement about the matter in front of employees. If you’d like to follow up I’d be happy to provide the transcript.
