  We had a great experience at Dain Conway. Our returns were completed quickly and efficiently. We also scheduled an appointment to go over a few questions, and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming.

  This is my second year in a row filing our taxes with this business for my husband and I, and it has been such a great process, we’ve continued to come back! Last year our family was going through a lot of personal challenges with a close family member going through hospice, and we filed our taxes much later than we wanted to, (around April 10th, I believe) and Dain’s team was still able to file them before April 15th deadline. This year was much calmer, and they just completed our taxes today and we are getting a great refund. Neil is the guy we’ve been working with for the past two years, and he’s very patient and kind. He also makes sure we leave with every question answered. We will definitely be coming back here to continue filing our taxes for years to come. The price they charge is also more than reasonable, especially for how easy the process is. Thank you again to Neil and team, we’ll see you all again next year!

  I would strongly caution anyone considering Dain Conway Tax Services. I used them for both my LLC and personal taxes, and the experience has been extremely stressful, time-consuming, and ultimately costly. After filing, I received letters from the IRS indicating that items were filed incorrectly. What should have been a routine process turned into a months-long ordeal of trying to fix mistakes that should never have happened. This year, we had to work with another professional to correct those errors. After filing amendments, we actually received significantly more money back clear evidence that the original returns were not prepared accurately or thoroughly. From a professional standpoint, there were several major concerns: Lack of accuracy and attention to detail in filings Failure to properly review returns before submission Poor communication and lack of follow-through Providing reassurance that everything was “handled” when it was not Creating additional financial and administrative burden due to errors In addition, interactions with their team were consistently unprofessional. Communication felt dismissive and, at times, outright rude. When you are trusting someone with something as important as your finances and business compliance, you expect professionalism, clarity, and accountability....none of which we experienced. As a business owner, I relied on their expertise to ensure compliance and accuracy. Instead, I was left dealing with IRS notices, amendments, and unnecessary stress. I also received an official Notice of Tax Due from the Illinois Department of Revenue because required payments were not properly handled. This resulted in penalties and interest that should have been completely avoidable. As a client, I relied on their guidance and was never informed of any outstanding obligations. Receiving government notices due to errors like this is unacceptable and demonstrates a serious lack of attention to detail and professional responsibility. I do not write reviews lightly, but I genuinely do not want others to go through what we experienced. Choosing a tax preparer is an important decision, and based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for someone who is thorough, responsive, and truly knowledgeable.
