I am very sorry to hear about the deeply frustrating and disrespectful experience my daughter had today at Two Rivers Bank. The level of inconsistency and rudeness in customer service is unacceptable, especially in a professional setting.
"I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter, who visited the Ankeny branch today, Monday, December 8th, to obtain a new debit card. The overall experience was extremely disappointing and showed a clear lack of consistent professional customer service from the staff present.
Upon entering the bank, my daughter was not greeted by any staff member, despite several being present who made eye contact. When she was eventually assisted, the staff member(s) exhibited visible frustration and seemed annoyed to be helping her, despite the bank being unable to resolve her simple request for a new card.
What was most concerning was the stark difference in service when another customer entered the bank: this individual was immediately greeted with a smile and warmth. My daughter politely brought up the lack of a greeting she received, and the response was a dismissive, 'Oh, I thought I did,' followed by inappropriate comments made afterward.
It is unacceptable for customers, particularly young adults, to feel ignored, then treated with impatience, and finally to be addressed dismissively when politely providing feedback. This experience suggests a definite need for staff retraining on basic customer service etiquette, professional demeanor, and managing internal frustration away from the customer facing environment. We expect much better from a community bank.
