Im honestly confused by the number of bad reviews here, I run a small business selling clothes online and I have rarely had an issue at this post office. All I can think is the staff aren’t chatty but they’re not required to be and after the first couple of times I just no longer bother with the small talk and it’s fine. Once I was overcharged (went as small parcel, could have gone large letter) but in fairness I did say ‘one small parcel, domestic’ when I came in and I didn’t challenge the price when she told me it. You should know what service you want before you get there and be able to say, but in the past when I’ve found out insurance on the service I’ve selected doesn’t cover the amount the item is worth (for example) they have told me and advised a different service which is very helpful. Sometimes there is a wait but thats not within their control and often there is only one lady there. Frankly some of these reviews are unfair- why was your child allowed to damage a card in the first place, why did you walk under a man painting the facade, etc. it’s a small space and very busy just be self aware and you’re good

Unfortunately, my experience mirrors that of many of the other reviewers. I’ve tried to support this post office as often as I can, it’s such a quaint little building and it’d be a shame to lose it. However, I have never experienced any pleasant member of staff when I have visited, and one lady in particular is extremely rude. I’ve also had parcels and letters go missing when I have sent them from here, so sadly I’ll be avoiding in the future.

After several encounters with a relatively new member of staff I’m sad I now have to leave a bad review because it really is just the most frustrating and rude experience with her in this branch, there is a nice lady who works there and asks how I am and remembers me and then there is the newish blonde lady with a now “boy” hair cut, I took 3 small envelopes in and asked for 3 first class stamps, she gave them to me and I stuck them, and paid. I asked for proof of postage as I’ve had a lot go missing and honestly sick of loosing out, she then put the envelope through the gauge and said these need to be a large stamp as they are too thick and was not prepared to give me a proof receipt. So basically it was post in the letter box or go somewhere else for the proof of post (no offer of upgrading the stamps I’d paid for to the large). So as a little test I went to THREE different post offices in the area and all were approved for the small stamp, fit through the gauge and all friendly gave me pop! So she is just rude and difficult for the sake of it ! I don’t think I’ll use this branch again unless I’m desperate if I know the nicer lady is on shift. And looking at the other reviews I’m not alone in this kind of treatment.

If I could leave -5 I would.
Enter at your own risk. What a rude, miserable old woman. As soon as I walked in there with my 2 young children I could tell we wasn’t wanted there. I was returning 2 parcels and sending 2 others, whilst doing this my little girl was looking at the cards and slightly folded an envelope to which she told me I would have to buy the whole card. I refused as the envelope was hardly damaged. She the told me to take all my parcels, in any other shop this would never be a problem. This is not the first time I’ve encountered rude attitude from her. The haggard woman shows no remorse. This post office needs new staff that understand children are children.

You want to post a parcel, you say? Don’t bother with this branch unless you wish to feel like an inconvenience for daring to approach the Post Office with such a silly idea!
Very rude staff behind the counter who are evidently extremely unhappy with what they do for a living.
