I originally called to schedule an appointment at their Savannah, Georgia location for this coming Friday. Later, I called back to check for earlier availability for today and was told I could meet with a tax expert at the physical office. I received an email confirmation with the address, so I drove about 30 minutes from Rincon expecting an in-person appointment. While on the way, I received a call from the tax expert informing me that she was working virtually and was not actually located at the office. To be clear, I don’t fault the tax expert at all. The issue was with customer service providing inaccurate information and confirming an appointment that did not exist as described. This resulted in wasted time and unnecessary travel. After this experience, combined with learning more about the pricing for full-service filing, I decided not to proceed. So, I had planned to use TurboTax’s free version, but the overall experience left me with doubt, and I’ve chosen to take my business elsewhere. I hope TurboTax improves communication and coordination between customer support and their service professionals so others don’t encounter the same issue.
