What is the purpose of a bail bond?
The bail bond allows the defendant to be bailed out of jail without having to pay the full bail amount as long as they make all of their necessary court dates and complete their case. A co-signer or indemnitor is required for obtaining a bail bond. The indemnitor pays the bond fee which is 15% of the full bail amount and serves as the responsible party if the defendant does not attend all of their court appearances.
What is an indemnitor or co-signer?
The indemnitor/co-signer is a friend, family member, employer, or member of the community who contractually guarantees that the defendant will appear at all of their court dates until the case is disposed of. This is also the person who pays the non-refundable bond fee. If the defendant does not appear at their court appointment, the co-signer must pay the full amount of the bail and provide information regarding the defendant’s location. The co-signer will be responsible for all fees associated with finding the defendant.
What information should I have ready when I contact All-State Bonding?
Our bondsman will need the defendant’s social security number if at all possible (this helps speed up the process), the contact information (name, phone, address, email) for two people (references) who know the defendant and how to reach them, and from the indemnitor we will need the following:
-Proof of income
-Social security number
-Payroll information
-Driver’s License or State ID
What are All-State Bonding's hours?
We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are NOT closed on holidays, and our bondsman will be here when you need us. You will always have a professional bondsman at our office ready to assist and answer any of your questions.
Is the bond fee refundable upon the completion of the case?
No. The bond fee is non-refundable and is 15% of the full bail amount. This rate is set by state law.
How long until the defendant is released from jail?
Once a bail bond is signed at the jail, it may take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours. We have no control over the speed of the jail once the bond has been signed. However, you can be sure that our part of the process will move very quickly. Our location directly across from the Bibb County Jail in Macon, Georgia, (on the corner of 1st and Oglethorpe Streets) also helps to speed up the process.
Under what circumstances will I have to pay the full amount of bail?
If the defendant does not appear for any one of their required court dates, the co-signer will be held responsible for the full amount of the bail and for any fees associated with finding the defendant.
What should I do if I think the defendant is going to skip out on their court date?
Notify your bondsman at All-State Bonding Company immediately.
