Our founder and owner went to be with his Lord on Easter, March 27,2016. He started this business in 1954 with just a card table and calculator in a small office in downtown Atlanta. The business steadily grew to seven offices in metro Atlanta at one time. He managed the daily operations of the businesses himself going to each office regularly and talking with the clients. He enjoyed getting to know his clients and he always remembered important things about them. He will be missed by his clients and his employees. His daughter and grandson now run the business with the same high standards of quality service and integrity. The company still has his same vision of excellence and carries on in his honor.

- MBMs BrownFeb 25, 20261.0I contacted Townsend Income Tax because my sister uses them so I felt comfortable having them complete my taxes. I was originally working with Kyle Blackburn, but then received an email from Byron Manderson stating that he was assisting him. This review, though is mostly about Kyle Blackburn. Byron Manderson filed my taxes and it stated I would receive a small refund. I never received the refund. I found out later that had taken the RCC credit that he should not have. The IRS then charged me with failure to pay and I incurred interest. I contacted Kyle Blackburn about this and asked that the firm pay half of the penalty and interest. Kyle gave me the run around, stating he would look at it and gave excuses about being out of town. It took several months to get the information that I needed from the IRS during this time, I continued to fees. After several emails and no progress, I finally decided that I needed to give Kyle a final notice. Even after this Kyle continued to treat this issue as a low priority. In his final correspondence he tried to gaslight me and state that the preparer used the information that was given to him. The preparer never asked me about the credit he just took it somehow Kyle has decided that this was my fault? In addition, he stated that they did nothing wrong. How is that possible when you took a credit incorrectly and didn't even discuss this with me?? I would NEVER use them again. I usually do my own taxes. I haven't used a CPA in years and the one time I do, they do my taxes incorrectly and then blame me for it?
