The lovely teller, forgive me for not catching your name, was so engaging and very helpful! The smiles they had when I walked in was just amazing. I first met her 3 years ago and ever since every time I walk into her bank she still greats me by my name, that is unheard of these days. I recently completed a survey that was sent to me by PNC bank. I answered the questions a 100% accurate on what I felt about PNC. ( not these branch) as a small business owner I had to find another bank to help me with expenses and tools that I needed to succeed. But I just want to make it clear that the Spanish Fort branch is where I bank at personally and so does everyone I recommend personally family, friends and all my employees that has direct deposit. It’s clear to say I’m not to fawn of PNC business account I have but nothing can match the personal account and our personal relationship with Mrs Paula!!!

The local team has always been professional and pleasant, which is why I chose to seek a loan with PNC. However, my application was denied despite a strong credit profile with scores in the high 700s. The denial was cited as being related to a financial hardship that occurred nine years ago. This event was the direct result of a Stage IV cancer diagnosis. While I have long since recovered both personally and financially, PNC's underwriting process seems to have placed disproportionate weight on this single, decade-old incident rather than my stellar record of financial recovery and current creditworthiness. I recognize that banks are in the business of risk mitigation. However, this rigid underwriting seems out of touch. For comparison, I immediately applied at a different financial institution and was instantly approved for a similar product I had requested from PNC. The process was efficient, and the loan terms were superior, specifically offering zero prepayment penalties. This is a significant contrast to PNC's terms, which I was informed could include a 1-3% penalty. While I have nothing but positive things to say about the local branch staff, I cannot recommend PNC for lending products. The bank's inflexible corporate underwriting policies seem to be failing both their local teams and creditworthy customers.
