- FAFatih AkgulAug 25, 20201.0I can't believe how long it takes to close a home equity credit line (even after it is paid off), how much bureaucracy is involved and how clueless or helpless everyone I talk to seems about it. It took me one day and one visit to the bank to open the credit line. Closing when done is another story. After one month, many phone calls and multiple visits to the branch our mortgage closing is in a day and I can't get a proof that it is closed.
