East Troy Manor, was not a planned place to go to at 52yo. But my body and hospital felt differently. I had a big fall in my home majorly messed up 1 foot requirement surgery and a plate an 6 screws and opposite leg had fibula injury. I didn’t want to be here at all! And I was rude and I just stuck to myself. The staff never gave up on me and came in with smiles and compassion positive attitude for my treatment plan. The whole staff from kitchen to business office were amazing and you can feel their attention to detail matched their caring nature on wanting you to give you best care possible during the unpleasant moments of my life.
My walls came down a the personal relationships I made will never be forgotten.each person who worked with me I won’t forget! When my family could not get to visit me they filled in with the goofy joking around to shared stories of our families. They have so many activities for all the residents. It’s a shame I wasted the 1st few months here.and finally months 4,5 and 6 were so much fun. They think of everything 2days from now and I be at home with my lovely cat and hopefully visits from my kids. They set my all my prescription, follow up home care and therapy they took care of it all . My insurance is reason out of nowhere I had such high pt liability. Would not factor my rent my utilities I pay with small ssdi pay.. So when they say will fight for your care that is a large understatement! I could go on for days and days what a beautiful family East Troy Manor is to all residents and their families!
Thank you ETM

I won’t bury the lead here. East Troy Manor has provided my dad the best care he has ever received from a rehab facility and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone in need of Rehabilitation Therapy, Skilled Nursing care or any of the other services they offer.
With that out of the way, allow me to offer some details. A couple months ago my dad fell and had to go to the hospital. It turns out he had an underlying bladder and Urinary tract infection that led to him developing metabolic encephalopathy which caused, in my dad, pretty severe brain dysfunction. He lost the ability to move, like getting out of bed, restroom duties, etc. He developed a strong stutter and there was a noticeable decline in his overall brain faculties. Once he was stabilized, he was transferred to East Troy Manor. My dad professes not to remember very much at all from that time but he does remember feeling like he was going into hospice care.
However, the staff at East Troy Manor got him settled in and began caring for him. The physical therapist began working with him, moving muscles and limbs and eventually got him able to stand up. Once they achieved that, he began to feel hope which encouraged him to try harder and along with their coaching and support he was eventually able to take a couple steps. From there the story gets to be almost a Hallmark Movie level recovery story. They set him up with a speech therapist and an occupational therapist and he just bloomed.
The support he received from the therapy team in tandem with the AM and PM Nursing staff, a dedicated food service team and the most dedicated Social Worker I’ve ever met means that after just over two months, my dad was able to return to his home and will be here with us for Christmas. His stutter is completely gone, he’s able to shower and dress himself. He can manage his appointment and pay his bills. His recovery is truly remarkable and while, of course, a lot of that has to do with my dads personality and determination, I don’t really believe we would have this outcome if he hadn’t been sent to East Troy Manor.

My sister of 88 was sent there to heal from a broken rib n she was not happy she was not going home. They scheduled a person to keep her company until she settled in n understood she needed to be there. The staff was so warm, welcoming and ready to assist w/any need that popped up. Noel got friendly w/all the help n enjoyed the company of residents as well. When she left most if not all staff on duty came to wish her well n let her know she was a joy to b around... U couldn't ask for a better outcome than that. I will always b grateful for the attention and care they gave my sister.
