  Touchmark was a traumatizing experience for my aging father. The lack of care and communication expedited his death without question. While they do well in the assisted living area where residents can still care for themselves - they fail in the enhanced assisted area. If your loved one declines to the point where they need extra help they will not be able to choose meal selections from the main area menu--or even request food items as simple as a banana. If they choose not to eat because they do not care for the 2 selections offered - they will be left in their room to starve. The communication between shifts and between nursing and caregivers was nonexistent. When we would visit they would have no idea if my father had eaten or if he was sick. He was rushed to the hospital with a severe UTI that had clearly been brewing for days without anyone even noticing. Each day when we would visit he would be sitting in wet or soiled clothing. Any changing was done on a schedule - not according to need. Promises were made during the time of the tour and the care conferences but were not followed through on. Each time a concern was raised it was met with defensiveness and blaming of the resident. I wish we would have chosen any other option for care for my father. By the time we found a better place it was too late. He died at Touchmark - of starvation.

  I have been a Touchmark resident for more than 19 years. My wife and I moved into our stand-alone home here a year after she was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I wanted her to be part of a social community in case something unexpected happened to me. She moved to the Claremont neighborhood for additional assistance last year and passed away about 7 months later. Dining services are among the strong poinst at Touchmark. The menu offers six or more entrees daily as well as salads, soups, sandwiches, and dessert. three meals are served every day. I've been greatly impressed with the consistent level of service and the many social activities offered through all the years I've been here. I truly believe that Touchmark is the best retirement community in the Fox Valley for anyone seeking a social environment.

  Touchmark is my family. We are new to this area but found a truly welcoming community here. The staff is caring and friendly with smiles that are contagious. This is a joyful place to live.

  Our parents have lived in Touchmark for over four years. The staff and facilities are exceptional! The care that is offered is exactly what my folks have needed. They are able to have their independence while having access to specialized care services where needed. The food options are extensive and quality. Numerous daily activities, exercise, arts, music, church and even trips outside of Touchmark to restaurants, shopping, arts and walking. The apartments are spacious and safe and maintenance keeps everything in working order. As a family, we can't imagine a facility that would be better for our folks. We're extremely grateful to Touchmark for the quality and loving care they have been providing to Dad and Mom.
