Cattermole Funeral Home was founded in 1902 by Robert Cattermole, a Civil War vertaran as well as a wood craftsman, cabinetmaker and sawmill owner. His son Leland became his partner and the second generation to own and operate the funeral home. Leland's daughter, Anna Mae Millman attended mortuary school during WWII and became the third generation owner when Leland retired in 1957. Her son Jeff Millman and his wife Cheryl purchased the business when Anna Mae retired in 1985. They sold the business in 2012 to a small corporation, in 2017 the corporation sold to the business to Jeff Dorothy bringing the Funeral Home back to a locally owned and operated business. You still find Jeff Millman active in the Funeral home today.
My family always used cattermole for services fir our loved ones. The previous owner Jeff was wonderful and compassionate. The new owner is not..I lost my life long dear friend to cancer in March. We where given a grant from hospice for $800 to go to costs of cremation..the check had not arrived to cattermole by the time we needed to cremate and since we knew it was coming we borrowed the money to cremate. The owner sat in front us and assured us as soon as that check came he would forward the money to us to repay the loan..we waited and waited and then after many calls found out when it came and carelessly just sent it back. I called hospice and found this out when my calls to cattermole went unanswered. They said that Grant is still ours but needs to be sent back to cattermole again to be forwarded to us...I called cattermole many times to ensure they would recieve and forward. Nothing no call back the hospice also called many times and he wouldn't even return her call! We never recieved the money because he didn't care at all...why would he ...he already got his money..he could care less the issues we might face struggling to cover that loan..that grant was intended to help through these difficult times..he made the difficult even harder...if he is that carless with the needs of surviving loved ones the how careless was he with my friend...they should be ashamed..our family is through with them!

This funeral home is nasty, no ethics. THE OWNER shook My brothers hand and assured him he would call the military and turn his ashes over for his military funeral. HE LIED! My brother made his own funeral arrangements (since his wife couldnt be trusted) and these people didnt honor my brothers wishes. It took me 5 months of hassels and legal action threats to have my brothers ashes turned over to the Willamette National Cemetary. Please people respect your family and DO NOT use Cattermole for your loved ones.
