Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

American religious leader Key accusations involved "money digging" fraud (acquitted), conspiracy to murder (acquitted/dismissed), treason (escaped jail), and practicing polygamy, which sparked significant controversy and legal challenges, notably an attempted extradition from Nauvoo for alleged assassination conspiracy.

Far and away my favorite place to visit in Spokane! We go as often as possible and it has been life changing for us individually and as a family. No where else do I feel so near to my Savior Jesus Christ and to my Heavenly Father! Just walking the grounds is a peaceful and spiritual experience. Definitely go walk around if you have not yet!

My favorite place within the Spokane Valley. It is a small temple but beautiful. We come here fairly often as a family, and even though our children are too young to go past the front desk, we still visit the grounds and spend quiet time in the waiting room. Even our 7 year old feels the special Spirit within this holy house.
There is also a small park next to it where we play and stretch our legs before the drive home.
It is always a peaceful place that uplifts the soul and brings families together for forever.

The Spokane Washington Temple feels peaceful and sacred. Surrounded by trees and nature, it creates an environment of quiet reflection. Inside, sacred ordinances renew my commitment to follow Jesus Christ and help me remember the eternal purpose of life. Each visit strengthens my testimony that families can be sealed forever and that God is personally aware of us. I always leave this temple feeling calm, guided, and spiritually renewed.
