I wanted to take some time before writing this review. I toured the building back in September and initially tried to let my experience go, but it continued to bother me for months, which is why I feel compelled to share it now. During my visit, someone kindly showed me around the building while I was looking into housing options for my mother and father. The staff were pleasant, and I genuinely feel for them having to work in such difficult conditions. Unfortunately, the building itself was extremely uncomfortable. There appears to be little to no insulation, and the temperature inside was overwhelming. I mentioned this during the tour and was shocked to learn that the building has no air conditioning at all. This was very concerning, especially when considering the well-being of my parents. As I was making this decision on their behalf, the lack of air conditioning ultimately became the deciding factor for not moving them in. While there is an option to rent a portable air conditioner, the additional monthly cost felt petty and like nickel-and-diming residents for basic comfort. For a building like this, that is unacceptable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and considers making necessary improvements for both residents and staff. Cogir Queen Anne It is!

Truewood is a gem of a community in downtown Seattle. Close to first rate doctor clinics, hospitals and entertainment. It is very cozy inside and the residents are always busy with activities, making new friends and enjoy the delicious meals. Jennifer and team will make you feel very welcomed!

Truewood by Merrill, First Hill is a one of a kind gem. The staff and residents have created a warm, welcoming, and inclusive home. The location is peaceful. The surrounding streets are lined with establishes trees providing shade and a beautiful fall display of color. It's a very walkable neighborhood. The building is clean, and comfortable with views of the Seattle skyline. The culinary team prepares world class meals fit for the most discerning palate. This community is a fantastic value. The Community Relations Director, Jennifer is a wonderful person who cares deeply about her residence wellbeing. She goes above and beyond to make everyone feel like a part of the family.

***** 5 star rating for Merrill Gardens at First Hill in Seattle. My mother-in-law moved into this senior living community in June 2017 at age 92. The staff takes excellent care of her, and I enjoy having delicious and healthy meals in the dining room. My family reserves the private dining room for special occasions when we have a large group. There are always beautiful flowers to welcome people at the entrance and the front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There are several activities offered daily and it's easy to have their shuttle transport the residents to appointments.

Great location close to all the major health care providers (VM, Swedish, GH, Polyclinic, HarborView) and very close to the downtown retail core. Minor Avenue (the front door) is a wonderfully small, tree lined street...however the street is quite steep. The size of the facility is perfectly intimate, not large and impersonal like many facilites we toured. Staff is courteous and helpful. Staff ratio to tenants appears to be appropriate.
