I sent my child to this center a few years ago, and only after experiencing another childcare program did I realize how disappointing Bright Horizons truly was. This is a corporate-style daycare, and unfortunately, the management seems far more focused on cutting costs than on children’s well-being. Throughout the day, children are shuffled between multiple classrooms (early morning and afternoon) just to reduce staffing needs, which is very unsettling for little ones. The food quality was mediocre, and as a parent of a child with severe food allergies, our experience was stressful and unsafe. We were not allowed to bring food from home, yet the substitutes they provided were completely inadequate—sometimes just a banana! In only four months, we received around ten calls that our child had been given the wrong food due to staff confusion. Each time we had to rush in and give him Benadryl after he vomited. It was heartbreaking. My child was often hungry and dehydrated. Once, his water bottle was empty and no one refilled it. When we asked why, the teacher said, “We weren’t sure if you were okay with him drinking our water.” Another time, I arrived for pickup and found my child’s clothes soaked from the rain, without anyone bothering to change him. The staff seemed more concerned with sending daily photos and filling out forms than truly caring for the children. I also witnessed a teacher giving timeouts to toddlers, which I found inappropriate. When I brought this up to management, the teacher stopped speaking to us entirely. The overall environment felt chaotic, unhygienic, and emotionally unsafe. I often saw kids crying with runny noses that weren’t wiped, which was disgusting and concerning. Many teachers seemed unqualified, with no degrees or early childhood training — just there to collect a paycheck. In one classroom, I even heard a teacher threaten a child by saying, “I won’t give you lunch if you do that!” and others yelling at kids instead of calmly guiding them. It was heartbreaking to witness. This center operates more like a backup care option for large corporations (like Microsoft) than a nurturing, development-focused preschool. If you want your child to be treated with genuine care and respect, I highly recommend exploring local Montessori schools, where teachers are better trained, emotionally grounded, and truly focused on each child’s growth and well-being. Looking back, I truly wish I had chosen a Montessori school instead. The only reason I picked this center back then was because I liked the idea of being able to visit my child anytime during the day. Unfortunately, that trust and openness didn’t translate into genuine care or quality for the children. I hope this helps other parents make a more informed choice.

We had an extremely disappointing experience at the Bright Horizon Redmond location, and I feel compelled to share our concerns so that other parents are aware. We typically use another location for backup care, but due to availability constraints, we had to opt for this location during the winter break. Unfortunately, the staff’s handling of my child’s transition was shockingly rigid, lacking the professional judgment and empathy that one would expect from a childcare facility. Day 1: Since this was a new environment for my child, he was understandably anxious and ended up vomiting his breakfast upon arrival. However, as the day progressed, he settled in, engaged with the teachers and other kids, and had a great time. At pick-up, the teacher acknowledged that he was initially reserved but did well after adjusting—something completely normal for young children in new settings. Day 2: Due to a logistical issue (which I have no problem with), he was moved to a different classroom. The change again made him upset, and he vomited on the way to class. The staff immediately asked us to take him home to "rule out a tummy bug." While I can understand their initial caution, there were no other symptoms of illness—just distress from an unfamiliar setting. Day 3: This is where things became completely unreasonable. My child was slightly upset at drop-off, but shortly after, I received a call that he had vomited again and needed to be picked up. By the time I arrived, he was completely fine, actively participating in class and showing no signs of illness. Instead of assessing the situation with basic observational skills, they chose to take the most robotic, zero-tolerance approach, which led to unnecessary disruptions for both my child and our family. Why This Is Unacceptable: I fully support daycares taking health concerns seriously—no parent wants a facility to be negligent. However, common sense and professional judgment should be applied in these cases. Vomiting caused by anxiety or distress is not the same as a stomach virus. In other backup care locations, we have had directors handle such situations with care and reason, observing the child, helping them calm down, and making a decision based on actual symptoms, not just a blanket rule. The staff at this location, however, failed to provide that level of care. They prioritized rigid policy enforcement over actual child well-being, causing unnecessary stress for both my child and our family. A backup daycare should be a source of support for working parents, not an additional source of frustration. I strongly urge the management to train their staff on how to distinguish between illness and emotional distress so that parents don’t have to deal with unwarranted disruptions. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this location and will avoid it in the future.

I sent my daughter to here when she was 3 months. The facility environment is great. The size of the classroom is double than other daycare, Many outside playing area. The infant class teacher(Heba) is awesome. She loves baby, taking care baby very well. My daughter is super happy in there. The food in this center is also very healthy , many organic fruits.

Since the pandemic, we've been really amazed at how awesome everyone at this center has been! With the new safety protocols in place, we feel absolutely comfortable sending our child in everyday and we know that he's in a safe place, where his curiosity is fostered and encouraged. We're really happy to see that he's able to socialize with other kids in his class in a safe way, which he hasn't been able to do otherwise. The teachers have been very creative in finding activities to engage the kids, while making sure they are constantly learning. Everyday we look forward to seeing all the updates on the app, the different kinds of food the kiddos eat, pictures of all the activities they've done in class, individual notes from teachers. We've been at this center since our child was about 4 months old, and is now almost 2, so over the course of that time, we've never had any issues and every morning we can see the excitement in our kiddo to go back to the daycare and see his teachers and his peers! I'd absolutely recommend this center to anyone who is considering enrolling their child here! :)
