  i came here for a fifth grade field trip a few years ago for two nights, and i loved this place. the activities were really fun too, with things like canoeing, swimming, archery, etcetera. i was placed in huckleberry cabin with six bunk beds and one bathroom to share with all twelve people. there was also a separate room and bathroom for our chaperone. i recall waking up around 7-8am. at night, we did some skits, roasted marshmallows around the fire, and went on a hike and had some glow in the dark mints. the cabins were placed in a way that it felt like a community. even though this was my first trip alone away from home, it was one of the most unforgettable and fun trips i have ever had. thank you, camp seymour, for radiating welcoming and homely vibes to me and everyone else i came here with.

  I went here for 6th grade camp 3 decades ago and I remember the song: 🎵 Camp Seymour is your kind of place They serve you rattle snakes French fries between your toes A pickle up your nose And don’t forget those yummy shakes Made from polluted lakes Camp Seymour is your kind of place Your kind of place! 🎶 That being said I saw this review somebody put and it’s so funny it almost seems like parody: “The amusements provided were, indeed, diverting, yet of a most regrettably short duration. The camp itself was of a peculiarly sing-song character, for the youth were compelled to join in both song and dance to melodies of a most childish nature; and should any refuse compliance, they were met with harsh reprimand from the overseers. Each morning all were summoned at an early hour, that they might gather within the wood and raise their voices together. Even those of fourteen years were constrained to sing the selfsame infantile airs. The conveniences for bodily relief were in much disorder, and arranged in a most unorthodox fashion. It is my conviction that the exercises would be vastly improved were they extended in length.” All they had to say was “Camp Seymour is not my kind of place.”
