Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home opened on August 15, 2003. Now, virtually all of a family's needs in connection with a funeral can be served from one location with the cemetery, funeral home, and crematory. The funeral home is operated under the same philosophy of service and commitment. Special care is given to accommodate the customs and traditions of the families that we serve.
It was our first time contacting the funeral home. We were so grateful that the entire staff at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home were so compassionate and thoughtful to guide us with all the paperwork and funeral arrangement for our late mother during the difficult time. Especially their director, Ben, was very kind and helpful to our questions. Ben always promptly responded to our inquiries through emails with professionalism and patience. We truly appreciate their contribution to making a lovely and meaningful service for our beloved mother!
Best Regards,
Mable and Families.

Making funeral arrangements is an event no one looks forward to doing. Recently my father and I had to make arrangements for my mom. We arrived at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home and our emotions we running high and our stomachs we in knots. When we left after making the arrangements the anxiety was gone and we both we singing the praises of everyone on we spoke to at the Funeral Home. Kind, compassionate, empathetic and patient doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of describing how absolutely wonderful everyone was with both me and my elderly father.
I know there were questions we asked over and over again because our minds were grieving and at times it was hard to concentrate. Never once did we feel rushed in fact it was the opposite. We were told "Just take your time, we are in no rush". They even has beverages and snacks there, thank Heavens because at one point my emotions we getting the better of me and I was getting dizzy.
Throughout the entire process of planning and beyond the actual burial they were figuratively and literally with us each step of they way and we are forever grateful. I had never had to make funeral arrangements before and I had no idea what to do or where to begin. They helped me and continue to answer all my questions including reaching out to us a week or two after the funeral to see how my dad and I were holding up and also had referrals to grief counseling.
They have earned a GRADE A from us.

My experience with Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home was beautiful and memorable. My first meeting, before the passing of my wife Tess, was with George Boisse. George patiently took all the time needed to explain to me all the choices before me and he answered all my questions. I am very happy that I made arrangements in advance with George's excellent guidance.
Once my wife passed, I was helped by Funeral Director Mark Monastyrski. Mark, like George, treated me with compassion for my loss, and he made everything go smoothly and easily. I am especially grateful to Mark for arranging for Tess to have a memorial reception in the Mason Room, with plenty of tables, Tess's photos and videos shown on TVs around the large room, beautiful music in the background, and a microphone for family members and others to express their thoughts about Tess. My family arranged catering and there was plenty of space for that.
One of my very favorite things offered by Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home is the Tribute Book. The funeral home created a special memorial web page for Tess, and people could post photos and express their thoughts, all of which would be added to the Tribute Book. I included Tess's obituary, Tess's eulogy, and my own thoughts in the Tribute Book. I purchased one for myself, and also books for Tess's brothers and sister in the Philippines. I'm sure that we will all treasure Tess's Tribute Book forever.
For anyone who has lost a loved one, I highly recommend Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, not only for all the excellent things they offer, but for the compassion, expertise, and kindness of their staff. Thank you especially George and Mark.

My wife and I pre-planned our funeral arrangements. A simple phone call initiated the somber procedures which took a great burden off my chest when my wife suddenly passed.
The staff was professional and courteous. However, communication regarding the status of my wife's remains were not forthcoming. First, the funeral director assigned to us failed to request a photo and obituary for their website if not for friends who notified me of her published death. After obtaining the procedure and submission, I requested verification of its receipt and publication.
Unfortunately, it was only published the same day I had to recontact our assigned funeral director.
Second, I had to follow-up to find out that her cremation had occurred several days prior to my call. Thank God we have decided not to be personally present.
I was assured that my wife's remains, under their care, will be treated with respect and dignity while our burial site is ready for internment and I have no doubt that this will be adhered.

My sweet daddy passed away on November 4th. Pastor Mix & Levi came and picked up my father. They both were so kind and professional. My family (8 of us) met with Funeral Director Mark the next afternoon. Upon entering the doors, everyone was so compassionate & caring. They made us feel like family. Mark was very patient with us. He was very thorough and explained all the options available to us. Mark went above & beyond in all he did for us.
On the day of the service, I was a little anxious because we were having an open casket. At the time of my dad’s passing, he had lost so much weight and muscle tone that he did not resemble the healthy hardworking man we all knew and love. Joanna and Andrea are both amazing. They prepared my dad, and he looked so much like the man he was before the cancer ravaged his body. I cannot express enough that when your loved one looks like themselves it does bring peace.
Mark and Guinevere were the director and assistant that took care of the service. They arrived at the church ahead of time, set everything up, and made everything as painless as possible. We received so many compliments about the service and what a wonderful job they did. My heart is forever grateful for all they did for my family!
Frequently Asked Questions About Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home
How long does the actual cremation take?
It depends on the weight of the individual. For an average size adult, cremation takes from 3 to 4 hours at normal operating temperature between 1,650 degrees F to 2,000 degrees F.
What happens after the cremation is complete?
All bone fragments, which are very brittle, as well as inorganic metal items are swept into the front of the cremation chamber and into a stainless steel cooling pan. Remaining bone fragments are then processed in a machine to a consistent size and placed into a temporary or permanent urn, selected by the family.
