------- DEFINITELY not a facility fit for ANY child with NEURODIVERGENCE. Sadly, our experience with Bright Horizons was anything but “bright.” My 6-year-old nephew, who has a developmental delay, was dropped off at 8:30 a.m. on 6/20. Less than two hours later, his mother (who was leading a critical seminar and orientation for new college students in Washington, D.C.) received a call demanding she pick him up within 90 minutes due to a behavioral incident (he reportedly threw something). The staff then threatened to involve authorities if he wasn’t picked up in time. Every emergency contact called to explain no one could arrive immediately, yet the director responded with blatant rudeness, cutting people off, refusing to let them speak, and even saying, “You had your time to speak, now I’m speaking,”(I believe her name was Nicole the 'director') before repeating the threat to call the authorities on a 6-year-old Black boy with special needs. Completely inappropriate, lacking on inclusivity, discriminatory, traumatic, and unacceptable. When asked what de-escalation steps were taken or what support was offered, the director could not provide an answer. If the facility was not equipped to support a child with a NEURODIVERGENCE, that should have been communicated before enrollment. If THAT isn't a red flag then I don't know what is. Instead, they failed to honor their commitment to provide care until 4 p.m. and created an incredibly damaging situation for both the child and his mother ... who is now left heartbroken and at risk of professional consequences for something that could have been handled with care and compassion. If this is their definition of a “Bright Horizon,” I’d hate to see what they consider a stormy day. This facility clearly lacks the sensitivity, training, and responsibility required to care for children with diverse needs.

Security lapses at this location are very serious. I live in Texas, and my son is there with his father for only six weeks. Bright Horizons staff has wrongly recorded six times that I was the individual who dropped off or picked up my son. Nicole and Ephraim cannot even tell me who dropped off or picked up my son all those times. The staff has also failed to record several times that a person who is a stranger to me has dropped off and picked up my son. That is ridiculously irresponsible for a childcare center. Don’t trust them with your child.

I feel extremely lucky to have found this daycare center for my child. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better group of teachers and staff for my little one’s very first daycare experience. The teachers are patient, nurturing, and accommodating, while everyone else at the center are kind, professional and welcoming. The student to teacher ratio I think is just right - I find within the classroom a healthy balance of individual attention and peer interaction and socialization. My child’s (who started going to BH in Rosslyn just two months ago) vocabulary is already growing by leaps and bounds. Definitely an A++ if I had to put a grade to this center.
