I love TILDEN concept of living at home away from home. This small boutique like, “facility” wraps the whole building with beauty and charm where residents are cared for by happy and kind professionals in health care. When you walk in the house you feel the warmth that comes with being in a close relationship of individuals that meet a certain level of peace and lovely care. Nothing would be possible without strong leadership. Wade Chilcoat keeps an eye in all details of this beautiful life at Tilden. From Memory Care to Assisted Living. Pharmacy services and personal care. Just name it, ALL is available and ready to deliver with the best possible customer service. That is Tilden a home away from home.
Tilden Memory Care has been a truly comforting place for my aunt and our entire family. The home is small and peaceful, with just eight residents, which means she receives highly personalized attention in a calm, familiar setting. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive—they know her routines, her preferences, and treat her with genuine respect. We especially appreciate the open communication and the warm, home-like atmosphere. It’s clear that the team is deeply committed to quality care, and my aunt has found a sense of safety and belonging that brings us real peace of mind.

As a Director of Hospice Admissions, I am always pleased when I see that a patient has chosen Tilden as their home. The care at Tilden is exceptional and personalized and the owner Wade assures that all staff know the residents well. It is a beautiful and spacious home and we have trusted our partnering with Tilden in the care of their residents who are in the last chapter of life.
This group unfortunately was not a good match for my mother with IBS. She was not kept clean, the room was not kept clean. (Versus where she was moved to was kept immaculate with same number of staff, great attitude and know-how.) It's not hard to do it just takes initiative. The management was told of her IBS before moving in so they could determine if it was something they could monitor; they told me yes. They told me after a couple months I would need to hire a private duty aide to care for her. My mother was mild mannered and quiet with Lewy Body dementia. While there were some very nice staff, were also too many watching tv too often instead of taking initiative. From the constant dirty flower vases to the dirty bathroom, and no activity or entertainment, it was very disappointing as we were very hopeful. Staff would often forget to give my mother snacks when there were only 6 residents there or tell me with an attitude that she doesn't get any today. Meals were not individualized for my mother with IBS. I would provide additional food items to supplement because many of the meals I witnessed were not appropriate for her IBS (ie gravy laden Dinty Moore stew is not good for IBS), even though I had provided lists of good and bad foods and would remind them. More concerning, she was hospitalized for impacted constipation even though I created and updated a wall chart for them to monitor her BM to avoid this. I happened to find her one day balled over in pain. The staff were slow to respond and unconcerned. (The AL she was moved to, all staff monitor all residents BM, family don't have to create their own wall charts, because this is a common problem among the elderly.) Lack of initiative and concern to find solutions for my mother's needs was very frustrating. (Unlike the AL I moved her to, they respected what food items were not appropriate for her and communicated to me what was not working well so we could find solutions.) So much potential but poorly executed. There needs to be a manager on site daily and who has commonsense, attention to detail, and a service oriented attitude. Review is to help families and feedback is to help learn and grow so that hopefully future residents will have the quality care we all would want.
