**The Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple is closed for reconstruction**
Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

In February 2026, we visited the Provo Rock Canyon Temple in Provo, Utah. In 2024, the original Provo Temple was demolished after serving as an LDS Temple since 1972. The replacement Temple, now called the Provo Rock Canyon Temple, is well underway in the construction process. The new Temple will be a beautiful building inside and outside, and the landscaping will also be immaculate and well-maintained. These LDS Temples bless the lives of the faithful patrons, as we make and keep Covenants, or binding agreements, with our Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. We are excited for the opening of the new Provo Rock Canyon Temple.

Nestled near the mountains, this temple feels deeply personal. The quiet surroundings help me feel God’s presence. Inside, we participate in sacred ordinances that strengthen our relationship with Christ and unite families forever.
